I spent Hallowe’en photographing my friends in costume with an antique Kodak Premo from ca. 1895. I don’t know much about the camera itself, other than it was given to me by an old family friend when I was about 8 years old. It spent about 20 years in a closet, and then I realized I was a skilled enough photographer to actually use it. Fortunately, the years were relatively kind to it, the bellows are light tight, though the lens is obviously a dusty and in need of cleaning, but overall, that’s part of the charm of using this beautiful machine. I developed all the shots with a monobath just to be even more rough.
